But the muscle spasms and stiffness in her hands and legs quickly became a serious problem. "It can also occur in the stomach, spine,  ribs," Dion said. "But when I stretch my legs or when I cook, my fingers and hands feel like they're in the same position, because I love cooking." "I get cramps in my legs, and I can't seem to relax them." The muscle spasms can be so severe that they can cause serious damage. "I broke a rib once. When it's really bad, you can get a rib fracture,


" Dion said. The illness forced her to cancel her 2021 Las Vegas residency  and her recent Courage World Tour. She told Vogue France in April that she receives treatment five days a week for stiff person syndrome, and is undergoing training for everything from her toes and knees to her voice. The "Titanic" singer said she's not sure if she'll be able to perform again. "I can't answer that... because for four years I've been telling myself I'm not going back, I'm ready, I'm not ready. ... There's no way I can stand here and say, 'Yes, in four months,'" she told French Vogue.
